What is your Insurance Policy?
We do not recommend shipping anything invaluable, anything you wouldn’t trust handing to FedEx, or anything valued over $1000. Instead, we recommend our Frame Only service. If you're located near our California shop you're welcome to drop off your art in-person at 20450 Plummer St, Chatsworth, CA 91311.
For Mail-In/Full-Service orders you are asked to declare the value of your artwork at checkout. By doing so, each Simply Framed shipment carrying this artwork will be insured for the declared amount through our carrier, FedEx. This applies to artwork shipping to Simply Framed using a Simply Framed provided label ("Email Me a Label" or "Send Me a Mailer") and the final product shipping away from Simply Framed.
Insurance cannot be added to an order after it has been placed. By insuring your artwork, you become eligible for reimbursement, for the declared value amount, if your artwork were damaged, lost, or stolen during transit but reimbursement is not guaranteed (see below).
If my art is damaged will I automatically receive reimbursement?
No, unfortunately although purchasing insurance with FedEx (cost reflected at checkout) makes you eligible for the claim reimbursement it is not guaranteed. More info here. Please note: eligibility is only available if the order is shipped under a Simply Framed label and the claim is accepted by the carrier. We are not liable for any 3rd party labels or carriers.
The following items will help expedite the claims process and increase your eligibility for reimbursement:
- Detailed photos of the damaged product and shipment
- Detailed photos of the received packaging highlighting areas of damage
- Receipt/proof of purchase of artwork and art value
Do you offer insurance at checkout for all orders?
No, insurance is only available at checkout for Mail-In/Full Service orders to cover the cost of original artwork. If you're looking to add insurance to another service you may request this add-on via email hello@simplyframed.com. That said, if your Print & Frame, Frame Only, or Print Only order is damaged in transit, Simply Framed will provide a replacement at no cost if reported within 14 days of receipt and images of the packaging and damaged item.
